Fox announced the schedule for the 9th season of
American Idol and even though the show starts on January 12th, we will have to wait 2 months to find out who will make it to the important Top 12. That means for 2 months we have to sit through one month of Paula Abdul-less auditions with a several musicians and actors filling in for her until Ellen DeGeneres steps in to fill her shoes on February 9th.
Gone this season from the last one is gender mixed semifinalist from the Top 24, it will once again be boys one night and girls the next. (I wonder since the results show airs on Thursdays if that means Bones will be off the schedule for those 3 weeks, so that Idol can help give a stronger (no offense Bones) lead-in to the must watch Past Lives?) Also missing this season is the Wild Card round, which I am kind of happy about because the Judges have too much say so as it is why should they each get their pick?
So now that you know what to expect for the first the two months of American Idol 9, are you getting excited for the season or are you still bummed that Paula Abdul is no longer on the show.
