We have seen weatherman brave hurricanes, floods, freezing cold weather and other natural disasters. However, I never saw any of them be as brave as WTVA’s Joel Young. While he was telling the people of Tupelo, Mississippi the weather for the day, a wasp flew onto his shirt. Instead of screaming like a girl (like I would have done), he continued on as though nothing was any really different. That was until the bugger got a little too close to his stinger. Then he acted like any man would and stepped off the set to protect his weather stick.
What was he thinking as it was happening? He said, “I’m not sure if I was scared of getting stung… Or how I would react if it had stung me on live TV. 😨” I think it was the latter because no one wants to go viral like that meteorologist who acted hysterically when he saw a roach. Which is what we would have preferred.
And that’s all the buzz!
