BFFs and Ballas Hough Band bandmates Mark Ballas and Derek Hough are considering joining Derek's sister and taking a season off of Dancing with the Stars. When
Marc Maklin asked Derek about it he said, "Mark and I might not be back, either," he says. "We have other things going on." Things like touring this summer to promote their debut album that came out in March. Derek said they haven't made a final decision on whether or not they will be back next season. That is what his sister Julianne said before she was paired with her real life boyfriend this season. Something Derek can't do because he met his girlfriend Shannon Elizabeth when she was his partner on the show 2 seasons ago. Also Mark's girlfriend was disqualified from American Idol after Hollywood week, so she is not big enough to the show. Derek added, "it would be crazy, all three of us…leaving at the same time." I really hope he doesn't leave the show because I really love to watch him dance. Mark, I could live without. Would you miss the 3 champions if they were gone? One person who won't, would wind up being the only pro winner left on the show…Cheryl Burke.
UPDATE: Derek Hough might have another reason why he will be too busy to do DWTS next season…he also told Marc Malkin that he met with people from the upcoming Footloose people to talk about the possibility of replacing Zac Efron in the movie.
