I have really bad taste in movies, therefore I watch a lot of crappy films on Netflix. Even though I know they are awful, I can sometimes tell one is not worth watching because it is gotten less than two stars. That is no longer going to be the case in a few weeks.
According to Variety, the streaming service announced today that going from the 5 star system to a thumbs up/thumbs down one. Why the change? Netflix VP of Product Todd Yellin said after some testing, the thumbs did 200% better than the stars. I guess it is easier and a throwback to the late Sniskel and Ebert, and that is why people prefer it.
Do you give Netflix a thumbs up or a thumbs down for the change to their ratings system?
