The Vampire Diaries has been struggling in the ratings since it lost its female star Nina Dobrev, so The CW decided to make a change. Starting on January 29th, the Vampire show moves to Fridays along with its spinoff The Originals. What will replace those two show on Thursday nights? Starting on January 21st, the much anticipated DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and the barely talked about The 100 will takeover the formers timeslots. Legends looks thrilling, but do we have room for another comic show? We shall see.
The scheduling change wasn’t The CW’s announcement today. They also decided to pick up 5 more episodes for The Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and 6 more for iZombie. Personally, I am surprised that they are staying with Crazy because the lead is so unlikable. I want to like this show, but she is so over the top unappealing, it is hard to adore it like we show. When it comes to iZombie, I wish it got back 9 because I think it is the network’s best show.
Now there is one show whose future is in question and that is Reign. At this point, The CW doesn’t have a slot for it. I have to say, I am so OK with this period drama ending. It was built on the love story between Queen Mary of Scots and King Francis of France and with him out of the picture, there really is no reason for this show to go on. Do CW viewers really care about the politics of the 16th Century, I know I don’t. Do you? And what do you think of all of the changes?
