[ # ] The Oscar noms are out and Tower Heist was robbed
January 24th, 2012 under Oscars

Before I go off on my rant about how sh!tty the Oscar noms are, I just want to give my sympathies to Billy Crystal who has nothing to work with this year. Him and his SNL co-star Eddie Murphy who not won’t be hosting the shindig. Murphy’s movie Tower Heist would’ve been a shoe-in for at least one nom had Brett Ratner and him been part of the telecast like they were going to do before the Rush Hour director said a lot of stupid sh!t.
Now back to the Academy Awards the ratings for Awards shows down, so they figure to get them up they are going to nominate the A-Listers (Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Glenn Close, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, Gary Oldman and Woody Allen) whether they deserved the nomination or not. But that will not make up for the fact that almost all of the movies that are nominated in the top categories came out in limited release during December and barely anyone who will watch the show have or will ever see the movies that AMPAS says are the best. Seriously how many of the Best Pictures have you seen? I have seen one and it will stay that way for me.
When it comes to the acting categories, I think Best Supporting might go to Nick Nolte who has yet to have a statuette on his mantle. Either him or Christopher Plummer. Good thing Melissa McCarthy won the Emmy for Bridesmaids because there is no way she is getting the Oscar for it. I would like Brad Pitt to get the Best Actor award so he can tell Clooney to shove his where the sun don’t shine. And finally I am so happy that Michelle Williams gave such a beautiful speech at the Golden Globes because she will be the best actress and Rooney Mara will win the bitchiest.
What do you think of the Oscar nominations? Will you watch on February 26th.
