The creator of The Goldbergs was born and raised in Philadelphia and on Friday the City of Brotherly Love honored Adam F Goldberg and his family whom we have fallen in love over the last 4 seasons. To cap off the night the youngest member of the family, his mom,
Beverly, and his older brothers, Eric (yes Erica is really a boy) and Barry, were invited to watch the Phillies game. Not only that the real Barry, got to throw out the first pitch as the TV version of him aka Troy Gentile watched him do it.
If you are going to have all the real Goldbergs together at a public event with one of the television versions of them, then you are going to have to pose for some photos. So in the first photo you have Adam (black shirt) next to Barry (blue shirt), then Beverly, a mystery kid, Eric (orange shirt) and finally Troy. While in the second one the real life sMother was smothered with several look alikes. Too bad Wendi McLendon-Covey was not there as one of the impersonators because that would have been a nice yummy surprise.
Anyways, how awesome is it to finally see what the real Goldbergs look like now? We have seen them in ’80something, but not today. They did a great job casting people who look like the person they are playing. Well Eric is a lot more masculine looking than Erica, as he should be!
The Golbergs is back with all new episodes starting next Wednesday at 8p. I do not know about you, but I cannot wait to see what they are up to this season. Here is a little spoiler, Back to the Future’s Lea Thompson is getting her ’80s back on to direct an episode this season.
