Sir Elton John is to be paid $1 million to sing for just an hour at a birthday party. Reynolds, who made his fortune from selling self-help DVDs, made the enormous offer – which works out as just over $16,666.66 for every minute Elton performs – to guarantee the musician’s services. The ‘Rocket Man’ singer was said to have been "bowled over" by the sum and hastily agreed. A source said: "Andrew loves to act the big fish and wanted a birthday to remember."
