Seth Meyers is one of the younger guys hosting a late night show, but that doesn’t mean that he has the stamina to stay up until 12:35a to watch his show Late Night on NBC. He revealed this little tidbit to Entertainment Weekly over the weekend, by saying, “I don’t think we’ve (his wife and him) been awake when my show has aired once since I started doing it.” Then he explained why, “We wake up every morning at 6:45 to start our day. I can’t be up at 12:30 to watch a show that I know all the jokes for. ‘Yeah, nailed it, man. That’s a good one. Honey, honey, wake up: a real good one coming up. Solid zinger!’”
While that makes sense, it also makes him sound really old. Thankfully, his show is youthful. If you’ve never seen Late Night with Seth Meyers, now is the time to start watching because he has finally found his voice on it. Late Night has become a really strong show and no one is talking about it. I think he is doing a much better job covering politics than Stephen Colbert, and that’s the latter one’s claim to fame. Not only that, Meyers comedy bits have gotten so much funnier this season.
So if you are like Meyers, DVR it. If you are not like him and can stay up, then watch it. It truly has become one of the strongest late night talk shows on television.
