Back in the spring when production was halted because of the coronavirus pandemic, NBC came up with an interesting way to produce Saturday Night Live. The actors went live from their homes instead of from their studio at Rockefeller Center.
Now that two of the alumni, Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers, have been going live-to-tape from 30 Rock again, NBC is letting them go home for their 46th season.
We do not know who will be hosting the show’s season premiere on October 3rd, but I hope they get Steve Martin to do it. If he doesn’t do it, then Alec Baldwin could beat him out for the host who has hosted the mostest. Is mostest a word?
Anyways, it will be interesting to see how they do it with all of the regulations that the unions have put on Hollywood because of COVID-19. Everyone else who has gone live has been seated and 6′ apart. How do you do that when you have to play off someone?
I betcha there are two members of the current cast who are happy they won’t be on top of each other. They are Weekend Update’s Colin Jost and Michael Che. They will need bullhorns to do the news.
