Officials say "American Idol" winner Ruben Studdard’s concert on October 13th to benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children Transportation Fund has been postponed indefinitely. Although ticket sales for the Meridian, Mississippi show have been slow, Benny Eggler, recorder for the Hamasa Shriners and building manager of the Temple Theatre, says the postponement was "due to scheduling conflicts." Locally Hamasa Shriners help more than 500 children in 32 counties in East Mississippi who go to Shriners Children’s Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana, Chicago, Saint Louis, Cincinnati, Philadelphia and Galveston, Texas. Studdard, a native of Birmingham, rose to success after winning Fox’s talent competition "American Idol" in 2003.
