January 2nd, 2025 under Graham Norton, Robbie Williams

Robbie Williams decided to tell his life story in the movie Better Man, and they could not have gotten a better man to play him. Actually, I should say chimpanzee because that is who the Take That singer is in the film.

So you have to wonder why he chose an animal to play himself. He explained why to Graham Norton. “We realized we needed a created difference with the biopic,” he said. “The biopic genre got a bit long, a bit tired. So, we needed to have a unique selling point. And Michael Gracey, the director, came to me and said, ‘Rob, what is your spirit animal?’ And I was trying to find some self-worth for myself that day, as I am every day, and I went, ‘I am a lion!'”

Gracecy shrugged that answer off, so Williams went with the next best choice, a monkey. Then, Gracey told his star that everyone would be human, but you would be a CGI monkey. And the rest is Hollywood history.

If you need a reason to see the film that is out now, he gave us a reason. He said that for the first 45 minutes, he is a cheeky monkey, and the rest of the film is like Trainspotting.

Williams also has a message for any of his old bandmates or people featured in the film. To hear what it is, then

Williams shared the script with Gary Barlow, who he now gets along with. Barlow said that he comes off as worse than Darth Vader. So they rewrote the script to make him seem a little better.

What about the rest of Take That and other celebrities featured in the film? To them, he says, “Everybody else that I throw under the bus though, ‘Fuck ’em!'”

I wonder what they will hate more: his portrayal of them or what he told them to do if they don’t like it?
