Robert Hegyes who was best known for playing Juan Epstein on welcome Back Kotter passed away this morning from an apparent heart attack at the age of 60 according to The Star Ledger. After Kotter, he co-starred on Cagney and Lacey and guest starred on several shows, but he will all be remembered as the Puerto Rican Sweathog. Last year year he was reunited with his other Sweathogs at the TV Lands Awards, so at least we got to see them all together one last time. Something I am sure that brought him a lot of his happiness during his last year on this earth.
So today write a note excusing yourself from something with the craziest excuse you can, sign it Epstein’s Mother and remember an actor who brought us so many laughs to keep his spirit alive.
