Nick Ashford passed away today at the age of 70 from throat cancer according to AP. As a singer he is best known for his song Solid As a Rock with his wife of 36 years Valerie Simpson. But as a songwriter the duo are known for writing such classics like Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, You’re All I Need To Get By, Ain’t Nothing Like the Real Thing, Reach Out and Touch (Somebody’s Hand) and I’m Every Woman. So today honor the Songwriters Hall of Fame member by listening to one of his songs that we have all been singing since we were little ones and make sure to sing along loud enough so he can hear you all the way up in heaven.
