It used to be that stores didn’t start filling their shelves with Christmas items until Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. Then they started right after Halloween and recently it has even began as early as Labor Day in September. This year, Hallmark barely waited for July 4th to end before they let the holiday season. That’s because this weekend they are having a huge
Keepsake Ornament event at their stores. So at this rate in a few years, they will start selling Xmas stuff right after Memorial Day, then April Fool’s Day, then Valentine’s Day and then it will just be a year round sale. Which is kind of sad. I wish they would go back to starting Christmas after Thanksgiving because it made it seem so much more special. Now it just feels like that holiday that just won’t go away.
Are you happy that Christmas is starting earlier and earlier or did you like it better when it started later?
