ABC has halted production on its most charming fall series, Ugly Betty, for a week, Variety reports, and it may next put J.J. Abrams’ Six Degrees on pause as well. What’s the dillio? A Touchstone Television rep insists Betty merely "is taking the break to further develop the next episodes." There’s also talk that the hiatus is to accommodate the reduced amount of prep time the Ugly crew had to get scripts ready in the wake of the show’s recent relocation from New York to L.A. In any case, they’d better not be taking out the poncho!
