Prince has upset record labels all over the world by opting to give away his new CD away for free in
The Daily Mail and to people seeing his concert there. Personally if anyone should be getting that CD for free it is the schmucks that are paying over $2,000 to see him here in LA. I never got the whole Prince thing, I know he can play a bunch of instruments, but ever since he became a symbol his music has gone to crap. Seriously I thinking giving away the album for free is probably what it is worth because I doubt there is at least one hit on there.
BTW Sony BMG gave this as a reason why they will not be releasing the CD in The UK according to
Entertainment Wise, “Given the sheer number of copies we are talking about here it seemed the right thing to do for retailers to become exempt from the deal in the UK." I wonder how this will change the way record labels will promote CDs?
