Ever since it was announced that Prince Harry was dating Meghan Markle, he has slowly been hinting that he was going to go his separate way from the Royal Family. This has been especially obvious since his son, Archie, was born in March. Today, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made it official.
After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution. We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.
It is with your encouragement, particularly over the last few years, that we feel prepared to make this adjustment.
We now plan to balance our time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour our duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.
This geographic balance will enable us to raise our son with an appreciation for the royal tradition into which he was born, while also providing our family with the space to focus on the next chapter, including the launch of our new charitable entity.

What is the point of becoming a princess if you are going to walk away from it all? Actually, Princess Diana would be very proud of her son. I think this is what she would have wanted her for both of her boys. If she had lived long enough to raise them. Which is probably why Prince Harry wants to live as just Harry.
Does this mean Markle can start acting again? They are going to need money to live and that is the only job she knows.
UPDATE: Several Royal Reporters, including ITV’s Chris Ship, are reporting that neither the Queen of England nor Prince Charles knew that Harry was going to release his statement today. Therefore, Queen Elizabeth’s people responded by saying, “Discussions with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through.”
This just got even more shocking.
