Jessica Chastain knew that her assignment was to walk the red carpet at the SAG Awards yesterday and answer the press’ questions.
Her publicist told her to stop and do one with People/Entertainment Weekly. That turned out to be a mistake on their part.
It started off OK. That is until Janine Rubenstein asked her about Power of the Dog. Chastain wasn’t in that; she was in The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Lucky for Rubenstein, her co-reporter Jeremy Parsons jumped in and was able to get things back on track with a nice story about Tammy Faye Bakker.
However, he also made the chat awkward when he asked her about her Scenes for a Marriage co-star Oscar Isaac sniffing her arm on the Venice Film Festival red carpet. She joked about it and said that they are just friends because everyone was wondering if they were something more.
And on that note, the interview was over. They thanked each other for a good interview. However, the reporters were thinking how bad it went. While she was thinking, can’t I just go inside and sit down? She didn’t know what hurt more, her feet in those heels or answering all of those stupid questions.
As bad as the red carpet might’ve been for Chastain, the rest of her night went amazingly. That is because she rightfully won the Best Actress award. I hope she gets the Oscar because she did the best job at the nominees.
