Tony and Drama Desk-nominee Adam Pascal has been cast in a new feature film called Goyband, described as a "gefilte fish out-of-water story." The Rent and Aida star plays former boyband frontsman "Bobby Starr," whose skidded career (and love life) take an unusual turn while playing the Borscht Belt’s first kosher casino. Joining Pascal are TV’s Amy Davidson ("8 Simple Rules… for Dating My Teenage Daughter"), film favorites Natasha Lyonne (American Pie, Die Mommie Die), Tibor Feldman (The Devil Wears Prada), and William Wise (In the Bedroom), four-time Tony-nominee and three-time Drama Desk-winner Tovah Feldshuh, Ovation-, Garland-, and Lotte Lenya Singing Competition-winner Erik Liberman, and dancer-choreographer (and producer/host of TV’s upcoming "Dirty Dancing") Cris Judd. Produced by Red Sky Pictures and directed by Christopher Grimm, whose credits include Rhythm Thief (Jury Prize at Sundance), Spare Me, and Calling the Ghosts (two Emmys and a Cable Ace Award), Goyband is currently shooting in New York, and is slated for a 2007 release.
