Uma Thurman’s movie Motherhood opened up in The UK last weekend and only 11 people went to see it meaning it only made £88 during its opening weekend. Major ouch.
According to the Daily Mail the producer of the movie blames the promoters of the film in The UK for the failure. She also said that, “Think about how much crap succeeds at the cinema. Motherhood is not bad. It’s a very decent movie. I’ve seen movie that are not half as good.” Personally after watching the trailer for the movie, I have no temptation to see it. It might not be as bad as the crap that succeeds in the theaters, but at least those movies trailers make me want to waste my money on seeing them.
Motherhood did better in The States, it made $40,000 on this side of the pond. Granted most of those crap movies make that in just one theater on their opening weekend as compared to their whole run…

My girlfriend and I splashed out £4 to see this last night and believe me it’s as bad as you fear. Absolutely no story at all and nothing approaching a joke. All she does is keep leaving the apartment and try to find somewhere to park. I did a minute-by-minute review for my website if anyone’s that desperate to find out more!
