A woman in Michigan went to see the movie Drive and after she saw the trailer she thought it was a movie about car chases like Fast and the Furious and it wasn’t. So now she is suing FilmDistrict for a misleading promo. According to The Hollywood Reporter in the suit she claims, “Drive bore very little similarity to a chase, or race action film… having very little driving in the motion picture,” the suit continues. “Drive was a motion picture that substantially contained extreme gratuitous defamatory dehumanizing racism directed against members of the Jewish faith, and thereby promoted criminal violence against members of the Jewish faith.”
So what is she seeking? She wants a refund and production to halt on misleading movie trailers. I am hoping she gets the latter because how many times have we gone to see a Will Ferrell or a Jack Black flick expecting a comedy and not finding ourselves laughing once.
