Back in January, Neil Diamond revealed that he has Parkinson’s and was retiring from touring effective immediately. Last night, he made his first public appearance since then at the Songwriters Hall of Fame event in New York where he was honored with the Johnny Mercer Award.
Before he accepted his much-deserved award and performed Sweet Caroline, he spoke to the AP. When they asked the legendary singer how he was doing. The 77-year-old told them, “I feel great! I feel great!” Not only does he feel great, he looks it too.
Now, I am going to get political. I think his song America should be our new National Anthem. It is everything America is all about. Plus, it easier to sing, remember and get pumped up to over the Star Spangled Banner. Even the President could remember the lyrics! Who is with me?
