When you think of Hannah Montana, you only think of Miley Cyrus in the role. But that was not always the case.
The Used to Be Young singer told the story about how it took her over a year to get the part.
Believe it or not, her first audition was for Lily, the best friend, and not the girl who was leading a double life. But as soon as they saw her audition, they asked her to put herself on tape for the lead role.
They loved her, but there was one big problem. At 11, she was much younger than the other people they cast. Therefore, they went with someone else and shot a pilot.
A year went by, and Disney called her up to audition again and see how much older she looked. This time, she looked old enough to join the cast. So they gave her the part, and the rest is Hollywood history.
But that was not the only reveal she made about casting for the show. She also shared the story about her real-life father, Billy Ray Cyrus, played her dad on the show. Casting thought Billy Ray, who was filming Doc in Toronto at the time, was cute, but they weren’t sure if it was possible for him to do both. Therefore, when Tish Cyrus heard that, she said she would make it happen. And she did.
And now you know Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus became Robby Ray Stewart and Hannah Montana.
