Madame Secretary moves into her office tonight at 8:30p EST/8p PST on CBS, and you don’t want to miss this drama.
Elizabeth Faulkner McCord (Téa Leoni) is a former CIA analyst, who is now a married college professor with two kids living on a horse farm. Her life is pretty good.
Then one day, the Secretary of State dies in a plane crash and her life will never be the same. Her old boss at the CIA is now the President of the United States. President Conrad Dalton (Keith Carradine) wants her to replace the Secretary of State and he won’t take no for an answer.
So now her husband, Henry (Tim Daly) and teen kids, Alison (Katherine Herzer) and Jason (Evan Roe) are moving to DC to begin their new lives.
Elizabeth doesn’t listen to authority and does what she wants, only problem is she is now part of a system that is all about it. How is she going to do the job she was hired to do by her friend if others tell her she can’t do what she wants. Besides that, everyone in the State Department hates her because they don’t feel she is qualified for the position. Thankfully, she has her assistant Blake (Erich Bergen) and he helps her as much as he can. So does her husband, who is supporting and always has an ear for her to listen to when she needs it.
Will those two men be enough for her? Will she be able to do one of the toughest jobs in the world? We will just have to tune in each week to this exciting political drama to find out.
Also keep your eye on Erich Bergen, he is definitely one to watch. He is the true star of the show to me. You’ll see why I say this when you tune in tonight and every Sunday after 60 Minutes.
