After 5 months of waiting to find out if Brian Williams would return to NBC Nightly News as an anchor after his suspension, NBC News finally made their decision. Williams will now be MSNBC’s anchor of breaking news and special reports, and Lester Holt will take over NBC Nightly News.
I think this is NBC News way of trying to improve MSNBC’s ratings. The news network needs help and he is the man to do it until his contract is up. Then he will be free to get a better job at a better place.
Now here is my take on the whole situation, I think is complete BS. Williams exaggerated some stories, but who did he hurt? Did you know reporters lie to us all the time. They go to the beach to cover a hurricane because the winds are stronger there and that makes better television. That is just one example, and you don’t see them getting fired. And in this day, there are anchors out there who are biased and promote hate, yet they still have their jobs. I think that is so much worse than what Williams did.
So to all of you people who insisted on Williams being fired, think of that. Would you rather have a news anchor who preaches hate or someone who lied a little? I prefer the latter.
