Yesterday, Deadline released a headline that read, “Kevin Smith Says ‘Dogma 2’ Is Happening With Ben Affleck & Matt Damon,” and Kevin Smith responded with the inaccuracies of it.
The director wrote, “To be fair, I said I started writing a sequel in my head on Thursday night. So a Dogma sequel script is eventually happening… but that doesn’t mean a movie is getting made necessarily. And while I plan to include Bartleby and Loki, I’ve not spoken to Ben or Matt about it yet.⛪️”
Since then, the news site changed the headline to “Kevin Smith Says ‘Dogma 2’ Is In Works With Ben Affleck & Matt Damon Potentially Returning.”
How did this happen? Smith was talking at a Vulture Festival celebrating Dogma’s 25th Anniversary. And I am assuming they just misunderstood what he was saying. It happens. This is one of the positive things about social media. People can correct a wrong that is written about them in their own words.
Back to Dogma. I don’t care about Ben Affleck and Matt Damon. I want to know if Chris Rock and Alanis Morissette will be back.
