The Soap World is shocked today because Soap Opera News is reporting that Kelly Monaco has been fired from General Hospital and her character Sam McCall will be killed off in the Fall.
A source told the site, “Monaco was ‘blindsided’ upon learning of the decision.”
Monaco has been on temporary leave, and the role of Sam is being played by Lindsay Hartley. This is not the first time she has been on leave from the series in recent years.
Could that be why GH is parting ways with one of their more popular characters?
The actress has been a fan favorite since she joined the Daytime Drama in 2003.
General has welcomed back Rena Sofer, Jonathan Jackson, Rick Hearst, and Emma Samms this year. Now, they are saying goodbye to Monaco.
With new writers in place, I am sure she will not be the only one saying goodbye to Port Charles.
