July 4th, 2022 under KC and the Sunshine Band

Earlier today, six people were shot and killed at a parade celebrating the Fourth of July in Highland Park, Illinois. The shooter somehow got away, and cities across the state are forced to cancel their festivities.

One of those cities is Elk Grove, which is 28 miles away from the mass shooting that left 24 people injured.

KC and the Sunshine Band were supposed to play there tonight, but the Elk Grove Village police cancelled the gig for safety reasons.

Singer Harry Casey wrote, “I’m so sad to inform all our friends and fans who were looking forward to celebrating the 4th with us in Elk Grove IL the show has been cancelled.

“With a sniper on the loose targeting these events the local officials, in an abundance of caution, have decided to cancel all large gatherings.

“I hope someday soon these occurrences will be something in our history books. But until then, this is what we have.

“I pray for everyone’s safety. We will see you next year they want us back.”

If the happiest band can’t play a concert because of a domestic terrorist on America’s birthday, then something has to be done to prevent this from happening.

Hopefully, the police will capture the murderer ASAP so people in the state can breathe a little easier. At least until the next mass shooting in a few hours.
