Journeyman premieres on NBC tonight at 10p and it is so different than I thought it would be and in a good way! When I read the description, I thought it was going to be Quantum Leap (I am still pissed that Quantum Leap was cancelled) for the new millennium but the only thing the two have in common is time travel.
"Journeyman" a romantic mystery-drama about San Francisco newspaper reporter and family man, Dan Vasser (Kevin McKidd, "Rome"), who inexplicably begins to travel through time and change the course of people's lives. Along the way, he must also deal with the difficulties and stress at work and home brought on by his sudden disappearances.
However, his freewheeling travels through the years reunite him with his long-lost fiancée, Livia (Moon Bloodgood, "Day Break") — which complicates his blissful, present-day life with his vivacious wife, Katie (Gretchen Egolf, "Martial Law") and adorable son, Zach (Charles Henry Wyson, "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"). Reed Diamond ("Homicide: Life on the Street") stars as Jack, Dan’s cop brother who once dated Katie.
Kevin McKidd is great as Dan, a man who literally loses time and then catches up to it. What makes it interesting besides time traveling to correct the past, it deals with a man who must keep his commitment to his wife and kid while finding out his soul mate is not dead and is also a time traveler. I can't wait to see how that turns out!
