Angelina Jolie has signed on to star in "A Mighty Heart," the adaptation of Mariane Pearl’s best-selling memoir about the kidnapping and murder of her journalist husband Daniel Pearl by Pakistani militants.The book focuses on her frantic search for her husband after he was snatched in Pakistan. He was then killed by his captors, suspected to be terrorists with ties to Al Qaeda."I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book," Pearl told Variety. "I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to. I am also happy that Michael Winterbottom, a versatile and talented director who genuinely loves truth, will be working on this project as well."
Production in the film is expected to start in the next five weeks.Jolie will next be seen in the "The Good Shepherd" with Matt Damon, which hits Canadian theatres on December 22.
