On Tuesday night Jimmy Kimmel dressed up as Jay Leno and did his whole show of Jimmy Kimmel Live! looking like the failed primetime talk show host. So Leno thought why don’t I invite Jimmy on one of the last The Jay Leno Shows and have him do 10@10 and see if he could get his revenge on the late night host who still has show on at the same time slot it was at the beginning of the year and boy did that back fire on Leno like one of his old cars.
When Jay asked him his 4th question who he would like to interview, he said he would like to talk to both Conan and him at the same time and then it just went downhill like Jay’s ratings after that. In fact Jimmy asked Jay if he would come on his show today and do 12@12, but Leno wimped out, I mean said that tonight didn’t work for him. Probably because he is going to the weekly old car show at Bob’s Big Boy here in Burbank.
The next question was “What is the best prank you ever pulled?” Jimmy answered truthfully with the prank that got me addicted to his show and then said…”But the best prank I ever pulled…is I told a guy five years from now I’m going to give you my show and then when the five years came I gave him the show and then I took it back almost instantly…I think he works at Fox now”
Question 6 was, “Have you ever ordered anything off of the TV?” and Jimmy said, “Like NBC ordered your show off the TV?”
Question 7 is something about lap dances and Jimmy said something like, hey my mom is watching…oh wait this show is cancelled no one is watching.
Question 8 was about fears and one of the things he responded with is, “I fear they’ll move my show to 10 O’clock!”
Question 9 is “Is there anything you want to host that you haven’t hosted?” and Jimmy said, “Oh this is a trick, right? Where you get me to host The Tonight Show and then you take it back from me?”
And finally after question 10 Jimmy pleaded with Leno, “Listen, Jay, Conan and I have children. All you have to take care of is cars. I mean, we have lives to lead here. You’ve got $800 million. For God’s sakes, leave our shows alone.”
When they interview was wrapping up you could tell that Jay Leno was not happy, and he shouldn’t be because Kimmel sincerely ripped him a new one. Something a lot of people have wanted to do since the news broke that he would stay with NBC even though the network cancelled his chin.
BTW I wonder if the two hosts, who got friendly during the WGA Strike are still talking after that interview?
Not that it is a surprise to anyone, but I am Team Kimmel all the way on this one!!!
UPDATE: Did you miss the episode that started it all between Jimmy Kimmel and Jay Leno when Jimmy spent a whole episode dress as Jay Leno? Well that episode is repeating on ABC this Monday at 12:05a and it is a must watch because not only is it freaking hysterical, but Jimmy really captured Jay’s essence. Obviously he did otherwise why would Jay Leno have a competitor on his show???
