Jimmy Kimmel is doing Jimmy Kimmel Live from Brooklyn this week and he got to interview the man who he has idolized since he was a teen. When he was a wee one, he could only dream of doing what David Letterman was doing and now he does just that. Kimmel has said he really wanted to interview him, but he was also very nervous to do because he revered him so much. Well yesterday the dream became a reality and it was so nice to see the equal admiration they have for each other as they chatted. Although you could totally tell that ABC late night host was extremely nervous being the one in the big chair. Now having said that, I think it made the interview even more endearing.
I also thought it was very touching how the CBS late night host let Kimmel know he welcomes him as direct competition come January. He didn’t have to say it, but it was nice to hear him acknowledge it. I am sure that made Kimmel more at ease about that.
Maybe if Jimmy gets really lucky, Letterman will take him up on his offer and move in with him for a month! But I am not sure Kimmel would be able to handle that much excitement.
