Tonight at 8p on ABC 24 people will attempt to jump on three very huge red balls to get to other side, but almost all of them will land in the water instead. So that only means one thing, Wipeout is back!
And not only is the show back, so is Jill Wagner as a host. I recently asked her what it’s like to be on the show again and she said, “It’s awesome!” The she added, “Being back on the show is like being home. This is where I think I belong! I get to get up and have fun all day and be around wacky people.” Then laughed when she said, “It’s kind of where I should be, I think?” And we all think that she needs to be back with these wacky people because no one is as good as her when it comes to chatting with the contestants after they run that crazy obstacle course.
This season Wipeout is celebrating its 100th episode in June, and I asked John Henson which challenge was the craziest one of them all. He told me, “A couple of years ago we had the human catapult and I like the way it sounds.” Then he explained, “Maybe we build a catapult and throw some guy over the wall. It seems like such a bad idea that only we could come up with it.” And they came up with some other bad ideas for the show’s 6th season for the contestants to try out. Well bad for them, and very good for us.
Not only will this season be highlighting the 100th episode, they will also have a bunch of themed episodes. They include Family, Hotties VS Nerds 3.0, Newlyweds, Dirty Jobs, Boss & Employee, Blind Date, Beauty Queens, Brains VS Brawn and Exes. I don’t know which one will be the most fun, Exes and Boss & Employee can be really interesting! Especially depending on who wins the $50,000 and who loses their pride.
Because let’s be real some of those challenges will leave you more humiliated then you ever thought you could be. So tune into tonight and every Thursday at 8p to see what other bad ideas they came up with, to literally torture the contestants and cause them lots of pain!
