Datta Phuge, a money lender from Pimpri-Chinchwad, wants 2013 to be his golden year so he had a shirt made out of gold to ring in the new year. According to
Pune Mirror he spent Rs 1.27 crore to have 15 goldsmiths spend 18 hours a day for 15 days to create the 22k gold shirt that weighs 3.25 kg.
So why did he do it? He said, “The gold shirt has been one of my dreams and I am elated to collect it today. It will be an embellishment to my reputation as the ‘Gold man of Pimpri’”
