Independence Daysaster crashes down on Earth via Syfy and you want to catch this disaster flick.
It is July 4th and President Sam Garcette (Tom Everett Scott) is coming home to see his son, Andrew (Keenan Tracey), and his firefighter brother, Pete (Ryan Merriman). On the way to visit them, something out of this world happens and his plane is diverted. But since he is in the sky and metallic things are falling down around them, his plane goes down and no one knows where. That is because communication has been cut because of these mysterious UFOs that are coming down to Earth and destroying everything in their path.
Meanwhile back in DC, the Vice President (Garwin Sanford) decides that he is in charge and starts to attack the presumed aliens. Only problem his strikes aren’t working and they are pissing off whatever is attacking them.
Thankfully the President has come across a barn with computer genius Todd (Iain Belcher) and his even more brilliant friend, Leni (Grace Sherman). The two of them help him contact the White House. But just as quickly as they as communication between them is started, it is ended. Now the three of them are trying to come up with a plan to destroy whatever is attacking the world.
Then the President winds up meeting up with his brother and his son and they have a plan to get destroy these things, thanks to alien researcher, Celia (Emily Holmes). But what is the point of having this plan, if they can’t tell anyone about it?
Will they be able to get in touch with White House again before it is too late or will our world be lost forever?
You have to tune this exciting film to find.
Normally I am not huge into invasion movies, but this one is so good it kept my interest from the beginning until the end. In fact I think it might be Syfy’s best movie of the year so far and we are half way through it.
