Last week, viewers were captivated by Battle Creek on CBS, and tonight at 10p they find themselves in a sticky situation. That’s because they are investigating a murder that is tied to the city’s syrup business.
Another thing that Battle Creek is known for, is housing the headquarters for Kellogg’s Cereal. Twelves years ago, Breaking Bad’s Vince Gilligan had an idea for a show, and last year it became a reality. When he was asked at the TCA CBS Summer Press Day how he came up with idea for Battle Creek, he couldn’t remember. So the show’s star Josh Duhamel reminded him of the story he told him when he read for the part of FBI Agent Milton Chamberlin. He said, “I remember the first time I met Vince and David (Shore), I asked them the same question. And he said that, when he was a kid eating his cereal, he looked at the side of the Kellogg’s box, and it said Battle Creek, and that’s where you got this. Isn’t that where your fascination with Battle Creek came from?” Then Gilligan added, “I am fascinated by the name because it’s such a great name because it’s got the word battle in it. And yet they make cereal there.” So while you and I were looking for the toy in the cereal box, Gilligan came up with the name of his future show. Stupid me and my sugar high!
Talking about highs, Kal Penn has an interesting story on tonight’s episode. When Detective Fontanelle White goes to smoke his medicinal marijuana to get rid of his migraine, he realizes he was sold fake pot when his headache doesn’t go away. Now, he is out to arrest his supplier. You just have to tune in to see exactly how he does it. It will make you laugh like you just smoked a joint!
