[ # ] Hatchet 2 pulled from the theaters
October 4th, 2010 under Movies

Hatchet 2 was the first unrated horror movie to be released theatrically in over 25 years in the US and it barely survived three days in the theaters. Producer/writer/director Adam Green Tweeted the news, “To those asking: Yes, Hatchet II UNRATED has been pulled from US theaters.” Entertainment Weekly got this statement from AMC, “At AMC theaters, we review all films in all of our theatres every week and then make our business decisions based on their performance.” Hatchet 2 made around $53,000 in 68 theaters averaging around $774 per theater according to Box Office Mojo which is not that great, but I am sure there are movies that did worse that are still playing. So I want to know why the movie was pulled before Thursday. I think it is a shame that a movie took a risk and it was pulled before it had a chance to make any buzz.
So even though we can’t support Adam Green and see Hatchet 2, we can do so by buying his suspenseful and terrifying movie Frozen that just came out on DVD and Blu-ray last week.
