In September, Trevor Noah announced that he was leaving The Daily Show. Since his departure, Comedy Central has been testing hosts like Kal Penn, John Leguizamo, Sarah Silverman, and Roy Wood. And now it looks like they found their replacement.
According to Variety, three people told the trade that Hasan Minhaj is the lead contender for the job. However, nothing has been finalized.
Along with being a correspondent for the news program from 2014-2018, he hosted Patriot Act on Netflix.
Personally, with the Presidential election being 15 months away, I think he is the best candidate for the job. He is brilliant and funny, and most importantly, he makes you want to watch him to hear what he has to say.
