Good Girls is back on NBC tonight at 10p for season 4, and trouble keeps finding them. However, they always find a way out of it. Well, almost always…
Beth (Christina Hendricks) and her husband, Dean (Matthew Lillard), are preparing to open their hot tub store. There is still a lot that needs to be done before the city will give them the OK. There is only one problem, Rio (Manny Montana) needs his laundered money. He tells Beth if she doesn’t get him the money ASAP, he will turn over the gun that has her fingerprints on it. The one he used to kill her co-worker. Did I mention that they found her body? Therefore, Beth really needs to get him that money now or else.
Dean and Beth open the store, but they run into a problem. Can they get themselves out of it? Especially since they are being investigated by the team of feds led by Dave (Jonathan Silverman).
Talking about Weekend at Bernie’s, Andrew McCarthy is back as the hitman that Beth hired to kill Rio. He keeps finding ways to delay the murder because he is in love with Beth. Who isn’t?
Those are Beth’s problems; her literal partners in crime have their own issues. Ruby (Retta) and Stanley’s (Reno Wilson) son is having problems in school, and it is going to cost them a lot of money. Money that will cause her to need more from Beth. Annie (Mae Whitman) is also having problems with her son. However, they can’t be solved by money.
In the coming weeks, they will run into more problems that money can’t solve. How will they get out of it? They always find a way. However, their solutions always get them into more problems which is why we have season 4.
I can’t wait to see what happens next, especially after one of them is arrested. But I said too much…
Seriously, over the next few weeks, the show that empowers women is going to be hit with some really tough counterprogramming. It is going to need you to watch it live, so it can keep up the ratings. How hard is it to stay up on Sunday night? Now that we don’t have to drive to work on Mondays anymore.
Finally, I have one complaint about this season. How can you have McCarthy and Silverman on the same show and not have them share some screen time?
