Eddie Murphy has been acting for over 40 years, but he can still experience firsts in the business.
On December 1st, he will be starring in his first Christmas movie. Can you believe it? Doesn’t it feel like he has done one or two before? Especially since he would make a great Ebenezer Scrooge.
As excited as I would be to see him do a new take on A Christmas Carol, that is not what Candy Cane Lane is about.
He plays a man on a mission to win his neighborhood’s annual Christmas home decoration contest. After Chris (Eddie Murphy) inadvertently makes a deal with a mischievous elf named Pepper (Jillian Bell) to better his chances of winning, she casts a magic spell that brings the 12 Days of Christmas to life, and wreaks havoc on the whole town. At the risk of ruining the holidays for his family, Chris, his wife Carol (Tracee Ellis Ross), and their three children must race against the clock to break Pepper’s spell, battle deviously magical characters, and save Christmas for everyone.
Do you think they can save the holiday? We will find out on December 1st when the film debuts exclusively on Prime Video. Although this is a Christmas movie, we already know he does.
