Beyoncé finally released new music at midnight, and fans went wild.
Do good things come to those who wait? I don’t think they did in this case. Break My Soul sounds like a B-side dance track from the early ’80s. You know the era between Disco and R&B where the musicians were trying to find out what the new sound would be like before Michael Jackson, Madonna and Prince redefined it. There is a reason why Discos went dark for those few years; the music was flat and unimaginative.
So, I am not expecting much from act 1 Renaissance if this is what her people think is the best single from it. I am expecting another Adele, as in a flop that will still sell well because the Beyhive loves their Beyoncé.
And yes, I am afraid they are going to sting me after this negative review.
