Last week, TeenNick announced that they would not be picking up Degrassi for another season and we were sad. The day after the announcement, EP Stephen Stohn announced that we should expect some big news and today he Tweeted what it is. Degrassi is now holding classes at Netflix starting next year. That’s right, Netflix saves another and this one was worth it.
So who will be back? According to the press release, “Amanda Arcuri as Lola Pacini; Reiya Downs as Shay Powers; Ana Golja as Zoe Rivas; Nikki Gould as Grace Cardinal; Ricardo Hoyos as Zig Novak; Ehren Kassam as Jonah Haak; Andre Kim as Winston Chu; Lyle Lettau as Tristan Milligan; Spencer Macpherson as Hunter Hollingsworth; Eric Osborne as Miles Hollingsworth III; Olivia Scriven as Maya Matlin; Sara Waisglass as Frankie Hollingsworth; and Richard Walters as Deon “Tiny” Bell” will all be back.
No word if episodes from the show’s 35, yes 35, year run were also acquired by Netflix, but I really hope that they were. We can see what things have changed over time and what haven’t.
