What a year Troy Kotsur is having. First, he won several awards, including an Oscar, for his role in CODA. And now, on Sunday, the Mesa native is going to sign the national anthem at the Super Bowl in Arizona.
“I’m going to play the character of Francis Scott Key, who wrote the national anthem,” Kotsur told 3TV/CBS 5. “And I plan to tell it from his perspective in the way that I’m signing it, so I really analyzed his history when he was writing this song so I am going to become like him and what he saw during the war.”
Kotsur wants young deaf kids to see his performance and know they can do anything he has done.
