April 11th, 2022 under Awards

Kelsea Ballerini was going to host the CMT Awards in person tonight on CBS and Paramount+, but things changed over the weekend. Now, she is going to host remotely from her backyard because she tested positive for COVID-19.

Her co-host Anthony Mackie will not be alone on the stage. The comedian will be joined by Ballerini’s co-host Kane Brown from last year. Brown told CBS Mornings today that the producers called him on Saturday night, and he has been in rehearsal ever since. Thankfully, he has two years of hosting the event under his belt, so he got this.

And Ballerini still gets to do five costume changes all by herself, along with makeup, hair, lighting, and camera. Good luck and get well soon.

Gotta love Country stars. They make them rough and tough, unlike Will Smith. COVID-19 won’t stop them from putting on a show!
