While shows like The Voice and American Idol are looking for people who use their voices to wow us and So You Think You Can Dance seeks people to amaze us with their feet, SuperHuman showcases people’s talents that come from the use of their brains. Tonight at 9p on Fox, be prepared to be blown away by the extraordinary things people can do with their brilliant minds. Things like look at 2 huge walls full of the same matching colored tiles and figure out which of the three of those thousands of squares are not the same. That is just one of the amazing things that someone can do that you never thought was possible.
Each week, five people with skills in memory, hearing, taste, touch, smell, sight and more than that will show off their mind blowing talents, be judged by Mike Tyson, Dr. Rahul Jandial and Christina Millian and finally the audience will decide who will go home $50,000 richer.
While their pockets are getting bigger, so are our brains as we try to understand how they do the SuperHuman things that they do. It is a reality competition show unlike any other and you don’t want to miss the show hosted by Kal Penn.
Back when they were filming the show, I visited the set and spoke with Christina Millian. We talked about the show and what she has learned from it.
What attracted her to SuperHuman?
CM: I thought there was something special about it because it highlights our average every day person that realize they have these special skills. It is their underrated skills that put a spotlight on them.
Just to see these special skills that people have is pretty incredible and fascinating to be part of and watch in person.
What SuperHuman abilities stood out to her?
CM: I am learning that there are a lot people with great photographic memories. But I have seen some people do some interesting things with binary codes.
This young boy, he had all of these 4X4 squares and he added everything up to 182 with a bunch of random numbers. They said for over 3,000 years mathematicians have been having problems with the 4X4 box and getting a specific number. To see a kid 15 years old to do that like it was nothing is pretty fantastic.
What is her SuperHuman talent?
CM: I think my SuperHuman talent and what puts me on that stage is my ability to multitask. I focus on my passions and have no limit to do what I want to do and create full and complete strategies, teamwork, go from point a to point b. Of course, there is some difficulty but there is a lot of drive behind it.
Has she learned anything by doing the show?
CM: I am learning that actually there is a lot of different ways my memory could be used. I can actually associate something I normally would forget with something that is personal to me that way it is easier for me to remember.
Therefore, use your memory association to remember to watch SuperHuman every Monday for the next 8 weeks.
