Christina Applegate, 49, revealed on Twitter late yesterday that she was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
“Hi friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition. It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some asshole blocks it,” she wrote. “As one of my friends that has MS said ‘we wake up and take the indicated action’. And that’s what I do. So now I ask for privacy. As I go through this thing. Thank you xo”
I assume the friend she is talking about is her The Sweetest Thing co-star Selma Blair, who has been very open about her diagnosis with MS. Thankfully, she has someone to lean on during this time and vice versa.
This is not the first health battle Applegate has gone through. In 2008, she was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy. Hopefully, she will be as strong with the MS as she was with the cancer.
