The Good Wife is not on tonight because the Super Bowl is on instead, so CBS thought this would be the perfect time to announce that the critically acclaimed drama is indeed ending this season on May 8th. The news is not a surprise because their have been hints about it. A few weeks ago at CBS’s TCA Winter Press Day, they announced that the show’s creators, Robert and Michelle King, are leaving and the show’s star, Julianna Margulies, recently joked at an event that she would be out of work in April.
Glenn Geller, President, CBS Entertainment and David Stapf, President, CBS Television Studios has this to say, “It’s never easy to say goodbye to one of the crown jewels of your network and studio, much less to a show that is among the best on television,” adding, “But it also feels very right to end with the seven-year story its creators envisioned, and to celebrate the show’s final run while at the top of its creative game.”
While The Kings promised, “We’re looking forward to using this seventh season to bring Alicia’s story to its natural conclusion.”
Are you sad the show is ending or do you think this feels like the right time to bow out?
