Poor Zac Efron was hospitalized today for appendectomy according to People. According to his rep, "Zac had his appendix removed and is recuperating." Hopefully he will get better soon because he has to get ready to shoot High School Musical 3.

|  In yet more stupid movie news, Footloose is being remade into a musical according to Variety. They also say that the new script is being written specifically for Zac Efron who was in the High School Musicals and Hairspray which is OK I guess. The only good news that came from the story is it does not look like the movie will be based on the Broadway musical like The Producers and Hairspray. I saw the play and it was just alright. No word if Kenny Loggins will be working on the music for the movie, but I think they should have him do it because he did such magic with the first movie's music. What I really want is that Hollywood would cut loose and stop remaking their childhoods and come up with something new.
