Steven Huvane vs NBC’s Today |

THERE’S going to be a shortage of A-list celebrities on the "Today" show if Jennifer Aniston’s high-powered flack gets his way.Word is that Stephen Huvane is furious because the NBC morning chatfest trumpeted Us Weekly’s "scoop" about Aniston and Vince Vaughn’s supposed engagement, and then had Ann Curry breathlessly pump editrix Janice Min for details. So Huvane is said to be yanking his roster of top stars from future "Today" appearances.Sources say Huvane called "Today" executives and read them the riot act for not having checked with him before reporting that Vaughn proposed to Aniston on a private plane after a romantic weekend in Mexico. Huvane has branded the story a complete fabrication. He’s said to have told the "Today" suits he’s pulling his hottest clients – including Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Moore and Kirsten Dunst – from the show indefinitely. It’s also expected Huvane will hand his clients over to dreaded ABC competitor "Good Morning America." His entire firm, powerful PMKHBH, may follow suit, which would mean a serious scarcity of stars on "Today.""The timing couldn’t be worse," an insider says. "September is when the ratings war traditionally heats up, and Huvane’s clients have some big movies coming out.""GMA" producers are said to be giggling with glee. One staffer even called Huvane to make sure he saw the Curry-Min chitchat. "Today" spokeswoman Lauren Kapp says she wasn’t aware of any plans to withhold talent, but, "There’s no way. [Huvane] cannot afford to put his clients on a competitor that gets considerably less viewers.""GMA" rep Bridgette Maney bristles: "We’ve launched more than half of this year’s top-10 albums and movies, and ‘GMA’ continues to be the place where the biggest celebrities visit."
Page Six
What a schmuck he is! He can pull the talent all he wants from the show, but they can do as much negative press right back at his clients. They can say that Jennifer Aniston’s new film is bad, which will probally not be a lie. Same with Gwenyth and who thinks Kirsten Dunst’s Marie Antoinette is going to be good? And if she is going for the Oscar she needs all the positive press as possible. Plus PMK/HBH lost of a lot A-List clients (like Tom Cruise) in the last few years because of publicists departures, so yes they have some names, but not as many as they used to have. This should get interesting if Page Six is right?

Police officers were today "assessing" a claim by TV cleaning diva Kim Woodburn that she buried her stillborn baby in a park.Kim, now star of Channel 4’s How Clean Is Your House?, made the revelation in her autobiography, which is being serialised in the Mail on Sunday.A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said: "We are assessing the article in the Mail on Sunday and will decide what action is necessary in due course."She added that no formal investigation had been launched.Kim says she gave birth to the baby boy in February 1966 in her flat in Liverpool when she was only five months pregnant. She had recently split up with the child’s father. The following day, Kim says, she went to a nearby park and dug a hole with a spoon and buried the baby wrapped in a tea towel. She writes in Unbeaten: "I put the baby on the ground and then knelt down and started digging with the spoon. As I gouged the earth, tears streamed down my face. I brushed them away with my dirty hands."When I felt I had dug down deep enough, I lowered my precious little boy in to the hole and wrapped the towel around him before slowly replacing the earth."When the job was done, I still couldn’t leave." After the death of her baby she changed her name from Pat to the first name of her favourite actress Kim Novak, and moved house. She became a beautician and model, and is now married to Peter, a retired policeman. They have no children.
Daily Mail
Although what she went through is horrible, what she did is worst.

Publicist Stephen Huvane with Jennifer Aniston on March 27; Aniston and Brad Pitt with Sting
Jennifer Aniston’s publicist, Stephen Huvane, is denying our cover story that Vince Vaughn popped the question on June 27. But, then again, he’s told some whoppers over the years. Let’s revisit them, shall we? 1) BRAD AND JEN ARE NOT ENGAGED After Jen and then-boyfriend Brad Pitt took the stage during a Sting concert in November 1999 and Jen flashed a big diamond ring on her left ring finger, Huvane told the media: “She has a ring, but it’s not an engagement ring.” He continued to deny any engagement until the couple married July 29, 2000. 2) BRAD AND JEN ARE OK Two weeks before Brad and Jen announced their separation on January 7, 2005, Huvane told Us: “They are looking forward to spending the holidays with each other. There is no split. They are fine.” 3) JEN ISN’T MOVING TO HER FORMER BACHELORETTE PAD In February 2005, Huvane denied reports that Aniston was planning to move back into her former Hollywood Hills home, telling the New York Daily News, “Jennifer is not planning to move back into her home that is leased out to Ali G [Sacha Baron Cohen]. That is another fabrication.” Cohen and his fiancée, Isla Fisher, were ousted from the place that same month, Aniston moved back into her old pad later that year, and Vaughn joined her in January 2006. 4) JEN AND VINCE ARE NOT DATING When pictures of Vince and Jen cuddling on the set of The Break-Up surfaced in July 2005, and rumors circulated that the costars were dating offscreen, Huvane denied the coupling to the New York Post: “There is no romantic interest. Vince is a good friend of Jennifer’s. I think the tabloids are so eager to see her with someone romantically that they just make these false assumptions.” And, hey, for good measure… 5) GWYNETH IS NOT DEPRESSED In 2003, rumors surfaced that Gwyneth Paltrow’s depression over her father’s death caused the actress to drop out of the films I Heart Huckabees and Happy Endings. Huvane, who is also Gwyneth’s publicist, denied the reports, saying, “She’s not going through a serious depression, she just needs some time off.” “I was so depressed about my father,” the actress later said of the time in her life.
Us Weekly
I can tell you Us Weekly is so right. His way of confirming most rumors is not to respond. He only responds if it so big and he has no other choice. He is also the worst crisis management publicist in Hollywood. How can I say that? Well he was (not sure if he still is) Janet Jackson’s publicist during Nipplegate and we know how that turned out. He also let’s clients skip out on junket interviews, maybe Jennifer Aniston would’ve had a few more number ones if she did a few more interviews. Press does helps a movie, but if your publicist doesn’t let you do press oh well. So you might be asking why does he have such great clients? My theory research his brother Kevin Huvane?

Geena Davis allegedly sacked her makeup artist because she didn’t like the bronzer she was using. The ‘Thelma and Louise’ actress kept Prince Albert of Monaco waiting for half an hour at the Monte Carlo TV festival, while she bickered with her makeup artist and demanded her face was completely redone. She was then further delayed when the zip on her dress got stuck.Geena’s spokesman Paul Bloch said: "She used two or three different makeup people, but that is normal. She had a problem with the zipper on her dress, which delayed her."But she and Prince Albert sat together. She’s never been treated better and had a terrific time at the festival."

They don’t have a problem with the high price for coffee, but this they do… |

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Starbucks Corp. may be next on the target list of a consumer-health group that this week sued the operator of the KFC fried chicken restaurant chain for frying foods in oils high in harmful trans fat.
The Center for Science in the Public Interest said it is planning to campaign against the global cafe chain because of the increased risk of obesity, heart disease and cancer associated with high-calorie, high-fat products it sells.
And the possibility of legal action against Starbucks, similar to the case it is taking against KFC owner Yum Brands Inc., has not been ruled out, said CSPI executive director Michael F. Jacobson.
"Regular consumers of Starbucks products could face Venti-sized health problems," Jacobson said, referring to Starbucks’ use of the ‘Venti’ designation for ‘large.’
The group is primarily funded by newsletter subscribers and individual donors. It has support in the campaign from the small IWW Starbucks Workers Union, which has members in three stores, all in New York.
They would like Starbucks to list nutrition information — which is currently available online and in store brochures — on its menu boards.
"Customers can ask for nutrition information, but when you’re talking about a transparent business in a busy world, that’s not enough," union organizer and Starbucks "barista" staff member Daniel Gross said in an interview.
He said the company should use healthier shortenings without trans fat, and publicize its smallest size, "short," which is available but does not appear on the menu.
The union contends that Starbucks staff gain weight when they work at the chain. They are offered unlimited beverages and leftover pastries for free during their shifts.
A 20-ounce Venti banana mocha Frappuccino with whipped cream contains 720 calories and 11 grams of saturated fat, and a banana cream crunch bar weighs in at 630 calories and 25 grams of saturated fat. By comparison, a McDonald’s Corp. Big Mac has 560 calories and 11 grams of saturated fat.
A Starbucks spokesman said in a statement it is "actively researching" alternatives to high-fat products. The company said it plans to eliminate trans fat from seasonal baked goods — but not necessarily other products — by this fall.
"In our beverage ingredients, we have reformulated any component that contained significant artificial trans fat content," the spokesman said.
Wendy’s International Inc. and Panera Bread Co. have recently announced efforts to reduce or eliminate trans fats from their menus. Trans fat is an artery-clogging solid fat found in partially hydrogenated oils.
"Most people are taking the trans fat out of their foods because they raise the risk of heart disease and obesity," said Marion Nestle, professor of nutrition at NYU. "There’s a lot of pressure to do so, especially since the (KFC) lawsuit."
Jacobson said Starbucks may have been spared the scrutiny fast-food chains received recently because of its health-conscious image.
"People expect foods from Dunkin’ Donuts to be unhealthy, but Starbucks has more of an upper middle class, healthy, hip, politically correct facade," Jacobson said. "But the food is just as harmful to your arteries."
